Postdoctoral position in cancer immunotherapy

Application Deadline: N/A

The Quesnel-Vallières (https://mqvlab.com) and Tai labs (https://www.usherbrooke.ca/recherche/fr/specialistes/details/lee-hwa.tai) at the Université de Sherbrooke, Canada, are jointly seeking a postdoctoral researcher in cancer immunotherapy. Our labs use a combination of computational (transcriptomics and genomics) and experimental (immunobiology, organoid culture, mouse models) approaches to develop targeted immunotherapies against high-risk cancers.

PhD candidates with a computational background in genomics, transcriptomics and/or cancer biology are encouraged to apply. You will have access to large WGS/WES and RNA-Seq datasets to identify cancer-specific antigens, establish translational pipelines and investigate molecular mechanisms underlying cancer specificity.

The start date is flexible and can be immediate as of February 2025. You will be joining highly collaborative research groups with strong expertise in RNA biology, transcriptomics and emerging cancer therapies, including cell therapies, cancer vaccines and oncolytic viruses. Our groups are well integrated in the Canadian and international cancer biology, RNA and computational biology communities. Our research brings together basic researchers, clinicians and patient partners.

Qualifications

  • PhD in genetics, cancer biology, immunology, molecular biology, computer science or related field
  • Experience with WGS, WES and/or RNA-Seq data analysis
  • Fluency in bash scripting, python and R
  • Strong interest for translational research in collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills

Interested individuals should email Mathieu Quesnel-Vallières ([email protected]). Please include:

  • a cover letter describing motivation, interests and past accomplishments
  • a full CV including education, awards, publications and presentations
  • a list of 2-3 references.

Location: The Quesnel-Vallières and Tai labs are located at the Université de Sherbrooke’s Cancer Research Institute (IRCUS) on the Health Campus. The Université de Sherbrooke has had the fastest growth in research revenue in Canada over the past 20 years and hosts state-of-the-art platforms and facilities. The Université de Sherbrooke is a francophone university situated a 1.5 hour drive east of Montreal in the beautiful Eastern Townships of Québec. Sherbrooke offers a high quality of life in a much more affordable environment than most other major research centres in Canada. Knowledge of the French language and/or willingness to learn will enrich your experience.
